My persistence paid off as I diligently searched for overnight accommodations in San Francisco that would be comfortable, provide easy access from the freeway, be in a lovely location, and offer exceptional amenities without taxing our budget. I located the SF Summit House displaying one exquisitely decorated room on the web site. Immediately I called and spoke to Myles hoping that my husband and I would strike it lucky and the evening we required, May 7th 2012, would be available. It was and all arrangements and directions were promptly confirmed. On arrival, the beauty of the location atop Merced Heights awed us. Off in the distance we could see the Pacific Ocean, Mount Tamalpais, and San Francisco Bay. Our hosts, Matthew and Myles, greeted us warmly on our late evening arrival. They helped us with our luggage and offered us beverages and snacks while we settled into our lovely room. The Summit House is tastefully and exquisitely furnished with eclectic and fascinating art objects, furnishings, books, memorabilia, and collector items. We relaxed in the large front room on comfy couches watching through the bay window the fog roll in eclipsing the last of the sunlight. It was both relaxing and romantic, a gorgeous setting. We elected to eat out at a nearby Italian restaurant and on our return we talked for ages with our hosts who are an assiduous source of information and fascinating, intelligent conversation.  Our King bed with the lovely soft pillows beckoned and we drifted off to sleep with a cool breeze coming in the through the open window. In the morning we enjoyed our continental breakfast in the charming breakfast room and were overwhelmed by the choices provided: hot and cold cereals, fruit, yogurt, bagels, cream cheese, jellies, orange and apple juice, coffee and tea. What a wonderful stay and ideal hosts!

what a wonderful home they have. I can't say enough good things about
our two days with these great people...... I felt very sad when I
left. My wife and I are definitely going to book again at their
awesome place. The time we spent with them was magical to say the
least..... we eloped and Myles made the best fresh pastries for
breakfast so waking up every morning next to my wife and the smells

As a guest at 310 Summit, I have been more than satisfied by my time there.  Even though San Francisco is a great experience, 310 Summit has been the “summit” of my experience in that cosmopolitan city.  310 Summit has dramatic views of both the Bay and the Ocean at opposite ends of the house.  The meals there have been excellent and the food there is best described as haute cuisine rather than cooking.  Both Matthew and Myles are excellent hosts, to top off the experience.  In short, I would highly recommend 310 Summit to anyone desiring a singular time in this singular city.

Welcoming hosts, who effortlessly see to all your comforts and needs during the stay. The house is situated high on a hill, as the name suggests so the views are spectacular of the Bay and Ocean.

The public transportation is very conveniently located to downtown and we enjoyed the short walk to the station. The house is always very clean and bright. The food served is always very appetizing

and we would highly recommend SF Summit House for travelers in need of a peaceful and pleasant stay in San Francisco.

Whether it was a last minute get away to San Francisco, or a much anticipated extended stay our time spent at SF Summit House has always been delightful. At times, I have gone by myself for "mini-retreat" just to rest and rejuvenate. The hosts have a way of making us feel "at home" and comfortable right away, but privacy as a guest has always been respected.  As for the breakfasts served, I have never been disappointed! Fresh homemade breads, baked eggs prepared and served as a "guilty pleasure" and the casual elegance of the table settings are all superb.  We can't wait for our next visit!

I am a frequent visitor to San Francisco, usually on business, but occasionally for pleasure.  I stay at the Summit House whenever there is availability.  I have lodged there both alone and with my wife and have always found the accommodations clean and spacious.  Although the hosts respect your privacy, they are genuinely attentive should there be a need.  The food is always delicious and alone is worth the price of admission.  I would highly recommend the Summit House to whomever is looking for a place to relax after a busy day of sightseeing or working in San Francisco.

If you haven't been to the S.F. Summit House you don't know what is real good and warm hospitality is. The Summit House is a perfect place for bed and breakfast when you're on a vacation or on a business trip.  The room is beautiful and clean, breakfast is delicious.  Myles and Matt are so nice and warm they make you feel at home, also you get all the privacy you need.  The view from the Summit house is so beautiful from all sides you look over.  Thank you Matt and Myles for your hospitality.

The hospitality is just perfect, Matt & Myles are a very kind persons.  The room at the second floor is clean & organized with king bed.  You also have a private bathroom.  The breakfast is Delicious.  The Summit house located at a quite area, but it's near the central of the city.  You're really near to the all attractions.  The view from Summit house is wonderful / amazing, especially at nights.  You have always the privacy that you need, and they instruct you how to get to your destination.  Matt & Myles - I want to thank you for your good & warm hospitality & we will come again on our next vacation in San Francisco.

When all the hotels in downtown SF were booked, we looked into B&B's, not imagining that we would discover a real gem, namely the San Francisco Summit House. Matt and Myles warmly welcomed us into their beautiful home. The views from our bedroom, as well as the breakfast room and living room are outstanding. A wide variety of items were available to choose from for breakfast. We especially enjoyed getting to know Matt and Myles as they lingered in the kitchen to chat with us. They were very helpful in giving tips about the area, as well as some history. They thought of every detail when it came to providing all we needed for an enjoyable stay. Great pool table, too! We will not hesitate to book here again, as well as give a recommendation to our friends.

I have had the pleasure of staying at the SF Summit House on various occasions, and have always had an enjoyable visit; the recent guest room renovations have only added to the experience. Myles and Matthew are excellent hosts who take that extra care to ensure that the needs of the guest are provided for. The home is well kept, and unusually quite.  The meals are consistently excellent. There is ample street parking available in the neighborhood when I need it, as well as sufficient public transportation options available when I am not using a car.

We can't find the right words to tell you what a wonderful, magical time we had, staying with you in SF.
